Our products are based on a
combination of
standard
statistical and machine learning methods
Biomind,
a unique AI architecture
The statistical and machine learning methods are fully incorporated into the
Biomind AI architecture; but they can be used independently of any special
Biomind intelligence for applications where this is appropriate.
Biomind is an integrated AI system, in which pattern recognition, reasoning, concept formation, association-finding and evolutionary learning are fused into a single unified cognitive process. It learns through experience, so as to be able to provide product users with increasingly intelligent responses over time.
The most advanced incarnations of Biomind will be able to hold intelligent conversations with users, pertaining to biological topics, directed by its own goals and motivations. The first product releases will involve simpler Biomind versions, which nevertheless have capabilities far beyond those of competing data analysis paradigms.
Biomind is implemented as a collection of C++ objects, which may run on a single machine or else distributed across a network. It can also use a widely distributed peer-to-peer network for various sorts of background processing.
Biomind
embodies similar conceptual and mathematical functions to
the Webmind AI Engine, a collection of Java software objects created by the AI
Development Division at Webmind Inc. during 1997-2001, but uses a
somewhat different (and much more efficient) underlying software architecture.
Essentially,
the current version of Biomind is a simplified, ultra-efficient version
of the AI Engine, tuned and specialized for bioinformatic data analysis. As development continues, it will acquire more and more of the
intended functionalities of the original Webmind AI Engine.
General information on the Webmind AI Engine system may be found on the Real AI Institute website.
More
information on Biomind will be released along with the first versions of our
products.
